The Inca Treasure

Somewhere, deep within the mountain ranges between the Andes and the Amazon, there’s said to exist a fabulous Inca treasure hidden from Spanish conquistadors.

The legend begins in the 16th Century, when the great Inca Empire in western South America was being overrun by the Spanish.

Atahualpa was an Inca king who was captured in his palace by a Spanish commander.  The Spanish agreed to release Atahualpa in return for a roomful of gold, but they later, went back on their agreement.

The Inca king was killed before the last, and largest part of the ransom had been delivered.  So, his half brother, the last of the Inca rulers, buried the amazing treasure in a secret mountain cave.  And there, according to the legend, it has remained to this day!
